We-eell hello there 2010 !

I just returned from bombay barely 10 hours back. And here i am sitting down and typing away to glory on moi pc.

Boy i need to get a life.

Anywhoo i was actually planning to write about my er... ahem 'interesting' trip but i think most of you would have WAY interesting experiences so why bother. So what am i gonna write about ?

The new year

*groans all around*

Peace people...peace.

I am NOT gonna write about senti stuff like how the year was great and a roller coaster ride of emotions, about how am gonna change myself and other cliche schmuck.

Fuck that shit.

Let's reminiscence a bit shall we.

Remember 2000 ? I dunno about you all but i still remember how i ushered it in. I was all of 10 years old and in 6th. I was in a AWESOME school in an AWESOME-ER(yes i know it's not a word you pompous english grammar fanatics) city-ahmedabad and i spent the last few days of 1999 reading articles in the papers about how the new year slash new decade slash new century slash new millennium would usher in a new era. Predictions were made about India's SUPPOSED progress over the next decade, world peace possibilities, technological advancements yappity yap blah blah.

10 years later india still has poverty and a bunch of stupid psychotic motherfuckers politicians with delusions of paranoia running the show, world peace is far from happening and cancer and AIDS do not have a cure.

True story.

On a more personal front well... I really didn't plan far ahead as i didn't envisage much difference in my life.

Boy was i mistaken -_-

Barely 7 months later we shifted to a place i barely knew- hell on earth a.k.a chennai.

And that was just the beginning.Over the past decade I learnt a new language, learnt to lie, turned street smart, learnt about keeping emotions in check, discovered my love for football (and food),went through a few crushes, had my heart broken, broke a few hearts, gave boards, started college, fell in love (still), nearly died twice, lost my shyness, discovered music, jumped on the orkut bandwagon, started blogging.... and that's just a few among 1314596 other things.

Ofcourse i didn't expect ANY of it.

It just friggin' happened.

And now 10 years later i regret very few things that happened cuz as they say- whatever doesn't kill you either makes you stronger or smarter !

Ofcourse this year(and decade) started on a bad note for me. I just found out that i flunked in maths , the one exam i studied for 3 days straight without rest.

Courtesy demands that i be a) totally depressed b) contemplating suicidal thoughts c) Berating myself .But fuck that. I will start this decade on a better note.Am gonna bunk my first day of college tomorrow to make up to a certain friend who i have been treating like crap since a long time.Sure it's not the best thing to do but hey wouldn't that be a better start than going to college and moping like a wet cat ?

But then that's just me.

I suppose that's enough random and disjointed rambling for now so i will sign off for now. Here's to a happy year and (hopefully) a wonderful decade .

Tally ho, chaps....Cheers !

Weirdo guy... you're back with all your weirdness! yay :P
Sounds like you really did have a great year.
i think the lack of expectations made it even more enjoyable.
So I'm totally going to learn from that.
And I really like the line - what doesn't kill you makes you stronger or smarter.

Anyway, Happy New year.
dying to hear about the trip to the awesomest city in the country :)

Fun post!
And in 2 years, I'll be a lawyer. And in order to not come to the point where I make a resolution similar to that in the comic, I hereby resolve to not make any resolutions at all...
